This site was mentioned to me a while ago, but I tried it out just today. It is sort of fun, to have goals for each chapter. I have written 4k words today, and feel like writing more. When will I edit them, I don't know? But I feel this urge to compete with the goals of the site. Something that the site I used to get my brain on board with writing before no longer works for me, since I climbed in the first place.

So, who else uses 4thewords? I go by doravg there too, so, feel free to add me as a friend, since I sure as hell don't know how that works yet.

Me! I'm there. I don't know if there's like adding or friends there because I'm just writing. Been writing for a few months there already. And it insanely boosted my word count.

I feel like some anprim monkey on a typewriter. All these authors using new fangled sites and systems and I'm still using nothing but default Google docs and handscribbled notes on some Hello Kitty notebook I robbed from a preschooler on my detour to the coal mine

Oh, it's not like a scrivener or a site for organizing writing or something like that. It gamefies writing, using word counts to kill monsters for example. If I just have a blank page in front of me, I easily get bored and distracted. But if something gets turned into a game, then I am somehow able to focus. So, it works greatly in my case because I'm easily entertained by games, but also easily bored if just focusing on just writing.

the truly talented have no need for these "new fangled sites" anyway. Keep up the hard work, kid. You're on the right track. Hell, who knows? Maybe you'll even be as good as me one day

I wrote to make money so I could eat. I found that starvation motivates you.
How do you advertise your books? I sunk some money into advertising for my Amazon project, but that got me nothing. I can say that Fiverr is a scam, at least.

Oh. Started out 5er. Got a rep for fast work. Slowly got some clients. Ghost writing isn't what it used to be. You get a checklist now. Races and genders and sexual orientation. A checklist of bs. Eon is a goddamn joke. I have some old friends hit me up from time to time.

Bardic press... are they even still around? Honestly wouldn't know where to send you.

My advice is you need to write generic. Group paragraphs by plot point, so its easier to rewrite. Oh. And never sell your name. Did that once and paid the price. There is no healing spell for a murdered reputation. Write it. Sell it. Never look back. It'll only cause you pain.

This is the first I'm hearing of it, but it doesn't feel like my type of thing. I like to write at my own pace.

By this notion you must be chiselling your incest fics onto fucking stone slabs and sending new chapters to your readers through their literal windows

I did for a time and it helped but now it just gets in the way. I like sprinting with people I can talk to not random monsters. It was great though. I just write inside of my grammar app prowritingaid . Or using an alpha smart neo type 2
