Make it so that blocked users do not show up on the front page.

All of those are only a single user. They very rarely have anything worthwhile to add to a conversation, and while I respect their right to be an idiot, I would rather not have to see their drivel. If I ignore them, I would rather see the most recent comment from a user I have not ignored. That way if it's someone I recognize, who I know usually has an interesting take or helpful advice, I can go check it out.

The user is ignored. I don't care if they commented on the thread; this should show the most recent comment from a user I have not ignored.

While we can't avoid something like that. I'm fine with anything regardless and your idea is good for some people who wanted to properly conversate in a thread so good luck for you to these idea being implemented, i guess. :blob_evil_two:

I've never in my entire life blocked anyone on any platform, so I have nothing meaningful to add here. I'll only say that it makes sense for posts from blocked folks not to appear at all(messing with continuity) but as I'll never block anyone I don't really care.

That's how it is handled in the threads themselves. In order to actually see that guys comments in this thread, I had to click this button:

And even then, I still had to go to their post itself and individual "click here to reveal ignored content."

I want something similar to be implemented for the front page.

Normally, I agree with you; I block very few if any users, but this user spams way too much and imo never says anything worthwhile. In that case, well they may as well be air to me, and ignoring makes them literally that. Except on the front page most recent comments.

Probably because whoever made this forum developed the blocking feature after the last post management and therefore opted not to dynamically retrieve the latest post, but overwrote some "latest thread/post" variable that's set per section each time someone uploads a message.

Which means its a dice throw how well coded XenForo is.

But if blocking is applied in the browser, you're out of luck in any case

I think the feature you requesting can only be made from the xenforo (the forum engine) side, but I could be wrong.

I mean, I remember back then vbuletin engine has the same block feature but it just work really poorly and no one can do anything about that.

I'd also like this, but please do understand that the forums aren't actively developed and that Tony doesn't know much about how to manage xenforo v2.0 in general.

So... Don't expect it to happen. Not because it is a bad idea, but because forum suggestions in general are highly unlikely to happen as a whole.

I was confused at first because Ignore usually does stop you from seeing alerts and such. I definitely don't see threads started by the people I ignored, and I've never caught their name on the front page either. I guess I'm just lucky?

People have to trigger me really hard for me to ignore them, so once I do ignore someone, I want to see absolutely zero content from them because I find even the sight of their name triggering.

Whenever I get angry or upset, I start shutting down. Like I'd get tired, sleepy, and I'd want to crawl into bed for a nap. It's whenever I can't rest that I'll become unreasonably frustrated towards someone and blow up.

Online, I can physically ignore whomever I want. I only have one person that I dislike, but I'd rather keep an eye on them to ensure they don't sabotage another's happiness.

As for the ignore feature, I feel this is on par with people who can't stand specific programs being aired on TV (television is still a thing, right?). I understand this mindset. It's not that you can't change the channel or turn a blind eye towards those posts, it's that spotting their existence brings a surge of emotions and bad memories you'd rather forget. I drink, so I forget a lot of stuff. Just ask a bunch of people I spoke to yesterday (I don't remember their names, but thank Discord for the @mention feature) about me recommending them stories and manga by telling them what they were about but without the titles because I couldn't recollect what they were called.
