Do you think you can read 10 thousand chapters by the end of 2022?

I think I can if I read and comment on 20 chapters everyday. This is considering the 2000 or something comments I already have.

*Note I don’t have a way to know how much chapters I’ve read so I’m just going to use comments.

Starting the count from today, that would be almost exactly 25 chapters per day.

It largely depends on the length of the chapters, but I think the average for the most avid readers is around 120,000 to 200,000 words read on a serious 1-day binge. If we assume 2,000 word chapters, as is the standard with English-written web-novels, that's 60 to 100 chapters in a single day completely dedicated to doing nothing but reading.

If you can fit in 2 days like that per week, it's easy going. So long as they are standard length English web-novel chapters, almost any avid reader can do it without a problem, and quite likely already do on a regular basis.

Depends, is the novel really good? Is it boring? How many words per chapter? Will you be reading filler chapters and info dumps (assume there are some)? Your average reading speed?

If each chapter is 1k words, which is normal, and it takes you the average length to read a chapter. It would take you four minutes a chapter.
Which would take you 4,0000 minutes for 10k chapters.
That is about 650 hours or 27 days.

So best case scenario reading only the smallest chapters, you can read 10k chapters in a month. . . . if you don't sleep, or do anything else.

But hey, the end of 2022 is 13 months away. so divide by 13 and. . . .

It's about 48 hours a months until then. Divide that by days. . . .

You have to read aprox. 1.4 hours per day.

CONCLUSION
Super doable and some people do it. But it's also really hard and you'd probably hate reading that much.

I listen to most of the things I read with text to speech. At the speed I listen with 1 chapter at about 2000 words = 5-6 minutes. I read for 4-12 hours a day. So in one day I occasionally do read more than 100 chapters. I recommend you take this approach if you have the time, especially if you read with a phone/tablet. If you use IOS I recommend Speechbot, it is free and easy to use.
I have already done reached this in ~May. The main issue now is to find something to read….

Out of curiosity I decided to add up all the chapters I ever read for web novels and it totals to 29,567. That was mostly over the course of 3 years or less mainly during university and excludes all the light novel titles and manga I’ve read from MAL. I’ve barely read anything since I started writing.

Chapters from MAL for light novels and manga is exactly 33,000. Anime episodes watched is 20,515. High school me... what’s wrong with you?

Yeah, it depends on how free you are and commenting huh. I did finish up CCG MTLs in about 2-3 weeks and that is about 3k chapters though no comments. Knowing how many different novels I have read, I probably long breached 100k chapters from various sources.

Then I need some adjustments to the plan…
