Posting Images in Chapters vs Images on SH Forums

Just curious, why do we need to upload our images to another site before we can even insert images in our stories?
But for forums we can just directly bypass that second step of putting it on a different website and instead, directly just upload an image onto here?

Latter feels more convenient.

I would guess it has to do with resource load and costs. Tony probably hosts the main site on aws or something else, so he'd get charged for people hosting images, i.e. title covers and any additional images uploaded. For the forums we can see that there's this 'XenForo' banner at the bottom of the webpage, which probably means none of the images posted here get hosted directly by Scribblehub. Most likely it's part of a package deal they're already paying for.

I think it has something to do with Tony not wanting anyone to upload an image that he didn't manually approve to his servers.

Uploading to the forums doesn't matter too much since they aren't very serious and there are no ads here anyways, but the main site needs to be properly regulated. And having an offensive image directly on his servers would probably be troublesome, so it was better to just stop it from happening altogether.

... Or at least that's my guess.

Ah, good to know. I was thinking it was like a subscription service model, and he just paid for the forum service. Seems that is not the case.

Makes sense about the moderation though. The forum is centralized and easy to moderate whereas patrolling images on every single novel would be pretty hard to do.

Imgur is a pretty popular one, but some countries block it, which is kinda annoying.

Another option is to upload the images to a private discord server though, AFAIK discord isn't blocked anywhere.

Discord's the way to go in all situations! (Except for life amd death ones... you should most likely go to a hospital, if that is the case.)
