Hello!!!!
After recently binge reading the My Hero Academia manga (which I had stopped reading for all of 2023), I really wanted to share my opinions on how things played out in the manga. They will be in the spoiler box below.
I enjoyed reading about the things that had happened at the final arc of the story, even if there were a few things that I did not care for in the manga.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on the way the evnets of the manga have been playing out?
Note: For the users of this site that only watch the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia, please do not read this thread. There will be spoilers for the events that have yet to take place in the anime. You have been warned.
After recently binge reading the My Hero Academia manga (which I had stopped reading for all of 2023), I really wanted to share my opinions on how things played out in the manga. They will be in the spoiler box below.
Let me start with the moments in the manga that I enjoyed.
I am happy with the way some of Izuku's classmates and the other supporting characters got their moments to shine in the final arc. Whether it be Shoji, Ochacho, Gentle Criminal, etc., they all got to grow as characters while contributing to the overall narrative of the war.
The way that villains such as All For One, Spinner and Skeptic were defeated made for a good reading experience.
I also enjoyed reading about some of the connections between characters such as Geten and the Todoroki family, Geten and Mr. Compress, Gigantomachia and All For One, etc., and the way they interacted with each other(even if they were only explored for a few chapters) during this arc.
And now for the events in the manga that I did not enjoy reading.
The way that All Might avoided his death. I personally think that All Might dying at the hands of All For One would have been more of a fitting end for the former number one.
The way that Bakugo also returned to the story was also something that I also did not enjoy. The first time that I read it, I was really not expecting for him to be a character to be injured to the extent that he had been injured while he and the other heroes present were fighting against Shigaraki. And not too long after that, Edgeshot decides to sacrifice himself in order to save Bakugo by repairing his heart. What I do not like about this moment is the fact that when it first happened, I really thought that Horikoshi might actually be ready to kill off a major character from the side of the heroes in this arc. But it turns out that it was just a fake out death moment. I can tolerate this outcome, because killing off Bakugo would have been problematic, because then we would have to worry about who would have to defeat All For One in this arc.
