Would you be interested in a scribblehub for visual novels?

So, I had a fewer dream a few weeks ago during a weekend and spent a night creating a shitty visual novel creator/reader site.
It is by no means intended to be an actual proper working website, it is garbage and was created using the powers of autism and insomnia.

My thread would be about whether any author would be actually be interested in something like this, where you can create one with very simpe drag and drop easier than ren'py and way more accessible. Would anyone bother?

ah sure, this is oauth so only email address is provided tho, i made it cause it was fast and its actually safer

Yes, I know. And that's why I don't trust it, as you can use "Discord auth" without grabbing said email. All you need is ID and maybe a username (to display somewhere).
You would need an email if you added alternative sign-up options. You don't have those. So, for me, this just looks like email farming :v

On another note, not everyone has a Discord account. So you limit who can use this app by locking it like that.

thats fine, I made this in one night and havent really touched since, but since you are interested I'll add at least one other option.
it is not intented to be a proper site and not a lot of care went into it, it was online for a few weeks only,
i don't want this thread to be about the site but about the idea. I'll make it open to read for now, but the login system is fucked up here so I would need to redo a lot (or more likely migrate this project into a proper userhandling baseprojet that might be easier) so at most Iwould add anotehr option or remove the email requirement. thats for tomorrow tho its past midnight here.

In the 90s I tried to write one (using a cheap photoshop knock-off and MetaCreation's Poser software). I think I finished a single page in two months of trying...
Tapas pretty much started out as something like this and grew to include traditional fiction, so that should tell you something.

okay discussions on this clearly stated WIP site aside , i honestly think this sounds like a rad idea! i wouldnt say the current tools available for making VNs are that daunting, but a site that can let you put them together & share them would bring a lot of new ppl into the space i think. the power of autism and insomnia is truly unmatched

thanks for the feedback. my current idea was havin chapters similar to webnovel chapters, and for organizing chapter contents,
there individual scenes that you can navigate either linearly or by choice option boxes.
there is no choice state saved so those are not persistent. so no choice persistency between chapters.
does this make sense or would something else work here better? thsi could be usefull for useless choices, but without persistency i think these could be worthless

So, webtoons.com, but for visual novels instead of graphic novels.

The "choose your own adventure" setup of many visual novels does make this more complicated, but I am all for it, presuming that there are people who are going to write/create them.
