What's the word count limit for a chapter on SH?

How would you know how many characters are there in a chapter? I only remember that word counts were displayed.

Many text editors have built-in character counter. I'm pretty sure MS Word and Google Docs have it at least.

In practical terms though, you most likely won't ever reach 400,000 characters. That's like... Some 70,000 words or something.

I found out last month when I had to split my chapter in half, b/c the site literally said that there's a 25k word limit when I hit the upload button. That's how I know.

This is one of multiple scripts and those are just what's sent to your browser to allow sophisticated interactions. In this case of the chapter editor.
Everything you see there (ideally) would once again be checked on the server in addition to saving/retrieval management.
