Since I am very used to putting commas at regular intervals, much to the dismay of the readers; to indicate that the speaker is pausing to breath: I am getting too tired of using just commas, semicolons and colons. We need more punctuation marks!
@Leficios didn't you challenge me for the designation of Lord of Punctuations once? Prove your worth here.

I use "..." when the character takes a dramatic breath to speak or says it slowly, breaking up her words. And I don't care if it's wrong or right.

I use "...Something." to indicate that the character is speaking after a pause or with hesitation. Apart from that I often use that thing - for example like this - to insert some additional information in the narrative; occasionally I use ";" as well, although not that often.

In music notation an apostrophe is used to signify when the performer should take a breath.

In the society of today? Yes, we need more punctuations, capitalizations, and spelling corrections.

I just use three dots to indicate if someone's got interrupted or trailed off. Or just actually write it:
'Someone was saying they want new punctuation...' Sarah trailed off, frowning at the screen.
Bob shrugged. 'But why? It's not like we already have what we need to...'
Sarah cut in. 'But we could think of something!'
