Have you ever gotten a notification because someone made a reply to a comment you posted over a year ago?
What I am proposing is a feature that, when enabled, would automatically ignore "comment reply" notifications if the difference in time between your post and the new post exceeds a certain duration (say, two weeks). This value could be set or disabled from the "Alert Preferences" page in user settings.
It would certainly make necro-posts a lot less annoying.

Currently, the only solutions available to users are:
- Disable comment notifications: also disables all the ones you actually care about, so not a good choice.
- Delete the comment. The problem with this is that many of the posts I have done this to are the base of a comment chain: deleting them forcibly removes all other comments in the chain.
