Have you ever gotten a notification because someone made a reply to a comment you posted over a year ago?

What I am proposing is a feature that, when enabled, would automatically ignore "comment reply" notifications if the difference in time between your post and the new post exceeds a certain duration (say, two weeks). This value could be set or disabled from the "Alert Preferences" page in user settings.

It would certainly make necro-posts a lot less annoying.

-------------------------------------------------------------
Currently, the only solutions available to users are:
  • Disable comment notifications: also disables all the ones you actually care about, so not a good choice.
  • Delete the comment. The problem with this is that many of the posts I have done this to are the base of a comment chain: deleting them forcibly removes all other comments in the chain.

I'm actually happy when someone comments. Whether it be a comment made today or one I made years ago. I personally see this as pointless since you could do either of the solutions you mentioned easily and it would solve the issue. Though this is just my opinion so maybe someone else would think it would be nice.
