Do you have any characters that you regret making, or at least just don’t like writing about?

so far I kept all characters to the minimum, if they don't contribute to plot then they don't get a name

Sometimes I feel like I have too many characters. They keep showing up, because I'm not quite sure what else to do with them. Maybe they also have to be included in a discussion merely because of their position while don't really having anything constructive to add.

On another note, I keep making those characters, who only show up to fulfill their role. An officer here, a thug there. They don't have deep enough characters to have use for much else, but sometimes you need a random NPC to fill a position.

A character I have some issues with would be that young orphan boy I introduced solely to pull the MC into this storyline. Even more so, as the main focus is his sister who has among others the trait that she really cares a lot for her brother. know I'm doing him a disfavor. There's probably more to get out of his character than I give him credit for, but I seriously use him as a plot device. And if there's no plot calling for a juvenile boy it's annoying to have him around. I at least need to find something for him to do while he hangs around in the same house as the MC group.

I have characters that served their purpose and I put them in the box. They might show up in the final arc. There is no reason for them to show up other than ‘remember this guy’?
