It is your choice - do you want (or need) to make money off of it? If it's on a Patreon or similar then it is fairly easy to make everything free (or make everything cost something - and it seems easy to have it transfer stuff from the "forward buffer" to the "free section").
Depends on your goal and needs.

The 'standard model' for sites like this is to release chapters at a steady rate for free, and have [X] number of early chapters available on Patreon.

So they are free for those who are willing to wait (or just don't have money), but people who chose to support you feel like they are getting something, even if it is 'just' getting something early that everyone else will get eventually.

You can Tier the Patreon too if you want. Each tier gives more early chapters.

As a reader myself - if you don't care about making money out of it, then sure. But if you do want to make some cash from this, what @Zagaroth said is the better option. It will work as a constant advertisment for paid advance chapters, giving your readers actual value for their money, an incentive to pay if they like your story.
Also, I have seen both a fixed number of advance chapters, and faster release rate for patreons (so increasing value over time) - in one case, by the same author on different tiers.

That's sort of what I have, but I had to cut back recently due to some time conflicts making it difficult to keep up.

When I have this dealt with, I hope to return to that model of increasing value for the top tier.
