Should I Be Posting About Spammers/Scammers?

Jadonmary_ has been going around spamming tons of chapters -- probably just the more recent ones -- with a stock inquiry. I'm guessing this isn't even legit intent to help/get legitimate business so much as to scam, given it looks unprofessional at a glance and that'd be the way to weed out people who weren't marks, but I suppose there's no way to know without poking at it more, which I have no other reason to do.

I reported them.

But this also lead me to the question: should I warn people about this sort of behavior when I see it, as I imagine there's nothing to stop them from going around under a different username once this one is reported and presumably banned?

In asking this question I am kinda doing so, but I wanna know for the future.

The only solution to stop them from going around under a different username is to go to the past and kick their dad or grandad in the nuts repeatedly until they can't reproduce. Can't spam tons of chapter if they were never born.

Hope this helps!

Yes, please report them. It's an ongoing issue here.

An option used at my site is to ban the user's IP address. Doesn't always work with VPNs and such, if they wish to be persistent. In some situations, we've banned the VPN they use. ::: shrug ::: Ten minutes with a scammer in a room with a whiffle ball (plastic) bat would accomplish much.

ban the user's IP address
This never works. Overwhelming majority (I'd say at least 95%) of internet users have dynamic IP - meaning they can bypass IP ban by simply restarting their routers or wait 12~24h for it to reset itself. And then, some random internet denizen gets that banned IP and can't access that service for as long as he holds that adres.

Just report them. Tony will handle the rest.
