NB: That doesn't work for mobile users (I'm on mobile rn)you can also stick a link-ad or signature to your posts where you point people to your series....
Wish I could remember the full story but there were two guys who had an idea for a television show (one of the classic comedies; blanking on which one) who shopped it to three studios with nobody even letting them past security. At the fourth, the security guy was new and let them in. The receptionist, however, was not, and gave them the runaround, when one said "Hold the fort" and walked out. He came back in a few minutes later with a large envelope and asked the receptionist to give this to her boss and added "it's urgent. Just one page, I promise"Hey guys! read my story. If you don't, I'll kidnap you and make your family pay for ransom. Kindly of course, maybe with a Scottish accent if you want.
I tried inserting a link into my signature but it does not want to work somehow www
it recognizes the link as a spam for some reason
It sounds cinematic.Wish I could remember the full story but there were two guys who had an idea for a television show (one of the classic comedies; blanking on which one) who shopped it to three studios with nobody even letting them past security. She sighed and slid it under his door. The exec saw the envelope, opened it, made two phone calls, waited five minutes, and then met with the guys to hear their pitch.
The first call was to his house to make sure his wife had not recently acquired a golden retriever. The second was to security to be on standby.
When the guys came in, he read the note to them: "We HaVe YoUr GoLdEn ReTrIeVeR. If YoU wAnT tO sEe It AlIvE, lIsTeN tO oUr PiTcH..." and had their business card attached. "I called security, after making sure we had no such dog. If your pitch does not blow me away, security will drag you out as painfully as they can. If it does, your creativity gave you a little boost and this will probably happen. Go ahead, give me your pitch."
Thank you!

I'm having the same problem as you . I'm barely starting self-promote after over working myself on my book that I feel stupid for not focusing on building a fan base . I don't have any great advice. Maybe know your audiences and where they hang on what site and apparently being active in writing community. Cards with a special form that match the theme of your story, quotes that you think are good from your novel and post them where your audiences hang the most . If possible visual art but I'm having a problem with that because I don't have money to pay for an artist nor pay an app that helps with that but you can work around it but it's tricky. Hope you start to see the path soon and if you find something that work please share and beat wishes for you .I have no blessed idea on how to self-promote my works. Anyone have any good advice?
