SO uh my new work is a RWBY fanfic with my oc character in the world of RWBY.

The planned plot is that the mc a victim of war found herself in the world full of grimms and humanity and faunus fighting against them. She is reincarnated as a catgirl faunus so she also experience discrimination.

Also the plot of RWBY started to get awry as wormholes started appearing out of nowhere sending random characters from another world making the now war throned world of RWBY more dangerous. How will the mc, a past victim of abuse from the enemies in the war, someone who hates weapons, survive in the world full of grimms and discrimination?

Planning to add OC characters with similar abilities from another titles. The first title I am planning to add is asterisk war an anime battle school competition type which characters are focus on their skills and swords. Plus their use of prana which is similar to RWBY aura and semblance.

I am only planning to add titles where their abilities won't ruin too much the power scaling of RWBY verse.

So any thoughts guys? Feel free to tell me wether it's positive or negative. Your words can help! Also feel free to leave some ideas if it follows my plot I will consider adding it!

Here is the link if anyone wants to have a quick read. It's currently 2 chapters only so far and planning to update a lot just like my other work Dicera which still continues on uploading chapters daily~

What's a Rwby?
Write an original story instead of doing fanfics
Nothing wrong with fanfics, in fact, I highly recommend any serious writer do a few. Learning how to add to an IP that isn't yours and doing justice to characters you didn't create is a necessary skill any writer who hopes to make money at this to learn.

"Doing Justice To Characters You Didn't Create" being the hard part.

If you are fanficing for fun, then just do that and screw what anyone thinks.
If you are doing this because you actually want a story other people will read and enjoy, then I suggest a few things:

1. RESEARCH - You need to know the material better than the original creator before you try this seriously. Spend time writing up a psychological profile of each Character you want to use and then go to a fan board and go, "HEY, this is how I see X! What do you think?" Then get your ass handed to you.
2. What If - If you're OC is interacting with the cast, then you'd better be prepared to know what will ACTUALLY happen, not what you wish. Small changes have big results when you alter events. You are dealing with a pre-existing fanbase that will LOVE to rip you to shreds. You had better know your Cause and Effect.
3. Never overshadow the originals - Helping out the originals is fine, but don't have your OC do shit better than the cast and then the cast go, "OMG, yer so awesome, OC! Can I have your baby?"
4. Have a flawed OC who needs to work at it - It's okay to have an OP OC, but the OC needs weaknesses and maybe should have their ass handed to them once or twice.
5. Isekai is hard to do right - I suggest writing a normal Isekai first before you do an Isekai into a pre-existing IP. if it's your first time, have the character be in-universe origin, not, Truck-Kun Isekai origin.

If you want an example of Fan-Fiction done well, I'm told I did a good job with Hotrod lantern. Not that long, only 50k words, but people tell me I nailed Batman and Superman's relationship. Feel free to read it and take notes. If you have questions on choices I made at certain points, just post in the comments and I'll clarify.

Thank you for giving me some pointers.

I agree with what you mentioned and I do believe original characters form the fanfic source must retain their value and I do want this to apply but with a change in the overall plot for they will be facing not just the main antagonist of the said plot but other creatures as well since I am planning this to be something like a multiverse but all other verse will arrive in this verse instead of mc travelling to other verse.

Also I kind of hate op mc so I always make my characters strong but flawed or in some instance, a weak to strong type of character.

Once again thank you for your pointers I will think what to add in the future while keeping this in mind!
Also will be sure to check your work later for reference although I am not sure since your fanfic looks different than my source material in this case

Well in a sense we are actually writing our own story xd we simply want to make our own version like alternative routes so to speak
Why don't you create a completely new world, without having it to be a fan fiction, like made the power system like rwby?,

Well first and foremost reason is I like rwby but while watching an idea popped into my mind and voila there is the story.

And the other reason is I am already writing my own novel titled Dicera too which is not a fanfiction.

Writing a normal novel is fun so I thought I might enjoy writing fanfics too!

RWBY is one of the easiest world to write fanfic, since it has only a skeleton and no substance. I think with RWBY, the fanfic tag is unnecessary.

Fair that said the main world in my series is RWBY but there will be other characters coming from other verse like 'asterisk war' so I think the tag fanfic still stands

Even if the story is about something like watering plants or something it will still be better than the source... So, thoughts are its probab- definitely better..

Its RWBY, it is very hard to be worse than the original source. RWBY died with Monty Oum, CRWBY violated its corpse like a fourth rate necromancer.

Damn whenever I read necromancer I remember that meme video about two guys roleplaying and they found a dead body. The necromancer kept reviving it with his spell using glitters and apparently they contaminated the crime scene xd
