A rocker of outstanding legend has passed.
Ozzy was 76.
As someone who grew up in the turbulent musical age of the 70s, with its grunge, disco, and punk rock influences all hitting us at the same time, it was refreshing to hear Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" album for the first time, and falling in love with something else: metal.
And it really wasn't just metal - it was metal with meaning and imagination, sometimes political, and sometimes 100% drug-fueled.
"Paranoid" doesn't get enough respect as one of the most influential albums of the 70s, and deservedly should today.
