Writing Prompt reincarnated as twins - one person becomes two people.

So, my plate is full with my current story and the other two I'm actively working on and the twelve that I've got on the back burner, but I just had this idea. someone else is welcome to take it if anyone wants it.

The premise:
"I was reincarnated as twins in another world."

So, basically, one person reincarnated as two. How would it play out? Would they share a collective consciousness? Would they both share the same memories but recognize that they're two individuals? The choice is yours. I hand this idea over to you, the excellent writers on this site! please, make it your own. LitRPG, fantasy, sci-fi, however you wanna play it.

THere are at least two existing novels about being reincarnated as two people (one even has it in the title) on this site. Not sure if either has twins though... Are we talking identical or fraternal twins, though?

I haven't seen them. And I know it's not original. But I hadn't set any particular borders. I figure whoever wants to use it could decide. I'd personally go for mirror twins, as my step-dad and his brother are mirror twins.

I remember an isekai manhau with this premise. I read it years ago so I don’t remember much.

I remember the guy finds he’s in a new world as two parts both a man and a woman. He struggles at first to control both bodies simultaneously, and ends up grappling with both of them struggling to move properly. Then someone else comes along and thinks his male self is raping his female self. So they kick the shit out of the male version of him and ‘rescue’ the female version

that’s all I remember, if anyone knows what it was called feel free to share

It's called After Transformation, Mine and Her Wild Fantasy. Be warned, the manhua is pretty all over the place. I didn't even know about its existence before I wrote my story.

Clearly this is an epidemic, and I'm all for it.

another one what? I just toss up ideas to whoever wants 'em when my plate is full. I've got a list of over 50 right now that I'm slowly making my way through, and obviously I keep the best for myself.

I say, go for it! If you think the idea has potential, you should jump on it! It doesn't matter if the idea is original or not; it all depends on if you're able to tell a compelling story.

Just do the thing where the two selves diverge wildly over time until they both become opposing forces to the other. Simple source of conflict. Have this divide between the two grow slowly but surely, with it first being overlooked due to it being over minor things....than it growing into something that becomes more noticeable still....yet still nothing more than a curiosity.

Then suddenly it's more serious, but still manageable.

Then it's something that can't be overlooked and must be dealt with......

Except attempting to "handle the situation" makes it all spiral out of control and now you're not quite enemies, but no longer sure if you are still "half of the same whole" any longer.

Now things have reached that point where there is no turning back, you must confront your other half and force the other to decide how the future between the two is going to play out. You have to know...friend or foe? Regardless of the answer....both selves realize neither can "re-join" without one side trying to dominate the other. You've been separated for far too long....too much has changed. The former compatibility is gone now.

.........and yeah. It could go like that. Insert whatever plot/story narrative and just toss these little plot points provided above inside whichever nooks and crannies they can fit snugly into and you have twins and drama.

I do have a bunch of stories saved up as well and I would like to see A Lot of people do pokemon like stories I have one really cool one with Him having a Main goal like Ash a little. I would like the set up some sort of competition for fun to see what people come up with the world they make

Hm... in both novels mentioned with this plot, the protagonists start out as guys. It sounds fun to write my own version of this scenario, but with someone who starts out as a girl instead. And maybe we'll go with either sci fi or wuxia for the setting? And I also like the idea where the two selves are about to combine into one another, so they must fight not to be the one who gets absorbed. Very, very interesting. I'll put it in my 'future writing ideas' folder. Ty.

The first thing that came to my mind when I read your prompt is that Star Trek Voyager episode where B'Elanna was split into two people: a Klingon and a Human. The second thing was the supervillain Mr. Negative who's alter ego by day is (surprise, surprise) called Mr. Positive.

So, if a protagonist were reincarnated as twins (preferably identical twins), I was thinking they'd have completely polarized personalities. One of the twins will represent one side of the protagonist, and the other would represent another side. They don't even have to be extreme like "good" or "evil." It could be something simple like one twin is lazy and the other idealistic.

They'd each have memories from their past life, but due to technically being different people, they'd interpret them differently from even their original self. And though I'm a fan of the "evil twin" trope, it'll be more interesting if they worked together using their individual strengths.

My thought when I wrote it wasn't so much two people with the same memories, but one person actively controlling each twin. Like one gamer with two monitors. But sure, however you'd want to write it if you want to.
