I'd like to request a new statistic.
Basically, I'd like to be able to see how many people are at the latest chapter, or most recent update, of a novel.

Personally, I'd find it helpful to know how many people continued to read a book to competition... instead of simply the number of readers.
This would probably need a number of intricacies, such as with novels that are recently updated will count the previous chapter for 24 hours...

Hell, even if this is simply an author only statistic... I'd like to be able to know how many people are continuing to read it.

I don't think it would be difficult to implement... but, honestly, I don't know much about webdesign.

Meh, I simply like the idea.

P.S.
Can you remove author's notes from counting toward word count?
It's annoying to me and unfair to readers who are expecting a larger novel than what currently exists because author's notes are counted.

Also, when I edit any of my comments the spacing gets all messed up...
I don't know if that's a personal thing... but, I thought I'd mention it.

This seems like an interesting statistic. There are a few features I would like to implement first but I'll definitely try to implement this. Thanks!

This is more of a display bug. If you refresh the page, your format is not actually gone but it's fixed anyways. Thanks!

Can I also request that this be something you can opt-in or opt-out of? I think I would cry a little if I had to face that statistic... :sweating_profusely:

Rather than an opt system I think just linking it through a button would be more suitable, I get the exact same nerves when I look at statistics on other sites.

There is a similar system to what I think SleepingFox is implying to, on the site Anime Recommendations, Reviews, Manga and More! | Anime-Planet they have a reader stats portion where readers personally input their opinions about the novel. These are also separate from ratings, which will give authors a fair view while giving readers who don't particularly like the story, but wish to give input a chance to give a simple review through how they read the story, whether it being to completion, reading, or dropping. This is also helpful to categorize how readers know what stories they haven't finished yet, if they are "bingers" allowing them to come back to books that they haven't finished and archiving books that they have finished, already.

Hmmm... I guess I can understand that.
It might not be a good idea in that case...

Honestly, I was simply thinking of a quick and easy way to see the number of readers up to the current chapter.

I've found that simply the current number of readers is basically a worthless statistic.

At the moment, I don't know for sure... but, something like 10 out of my 30-40 readers only bookmarked the first chapter.

Effectively bulking up my readers by nearly half... yet, they probably haven't even read a single page.

Because of that I want a more realistic estimate of my current readers... even if I'm the only one who I can see it, I'd like to at least have the option to see that data.

Thinking about It... maybe it would be better to do something that simply shows the number of people currently reading each chapter...
Example....

If 10 people only bookmarked the first chapter -> 10 (symbol representing current # readers on chapter) inside chapter edit list.
If 20 people up to the latest chapter -> 20 (symbol of current # readers)

That might be a way to provides data in an easy to understand format without pressure.

That might be easier to understand as well as add less pressure. Whilst simultaneous providing the statistic I wanted.

I wouldn't mind the other system your referring to either. More data is always better.

Man you guys are smart! :blob_highfive: Both of those sound really good to me. I wouldn't have any worries if either suggestion is implemented. So it's now up to Tony to decide what he wants to do :blobrofl:

Genius! Nice idea I would also wish for such statistic to thing to happen. The author's note is a good idea, though it must not be added to the word count.

If one day I would be blessed to have children. I would tell them seriously.

"Don't do drugs, Do not take too much alcohol, blah blahh."

"And be like Tony"
