So I'm working on 1 story where... I'm trying to decide what to do with the Main Character's long term life line. And this brought into mind a few different kinds of POVs I wanted to get. And a few scenarios to bring up.

Here's an example; OK when you have a human main character and their love interests are long lived... how do you resolve the main character being shorter lived? Does this bother readers? Do they want to see him somehow evened out on life spawn? This happens with elf stories. But it could happen with others also of other races.

In this case I mentioned elves but there could be many other races, particularly a harem story where the main character... in a story its useful to have the main character be a human because it lets you transition the story of bringing the reader (who is human) and their frame of mind into the world building...

Do other people get bothered by this?

I felt like I kind of wish for somehow the mc and their love interest to somehow get it worked out when there's a lifespan or race difference? (Fantasy races, etc not racism races.)

And my current story How to Date an Android this could potentially fit into that example above except be human and android rather than human and elf.

The stories are rarely concerned with the long-term implications.

The vast majority of the stories I've read only make sure that the protagonist remains in the young vigor during the story. I.e. story ends when the protagonist is still relatively young, and have potential long life ahead of him, but whether he would live longer or shorter than his elf lover rarely matters to the readers (unless you harp on it too much)
