Question about stray cat strut

I asked this question before however, the only insightful response I got was from someone who read it a long time ago so going to ask again to see if I can get any more answers but anyways, here is the question.

What's the romance like. I know the action side of it is the main thing and the romance would at most be a side plot but even then, probably not very prevalent so how often does it come up? Once the protagonist is in the relationship is that it, barely gets brought anymore and mostly forgotten about or is something that comes up every know and again with some nice wholesome moments between the two. These are just two examples of the top my head how the romance could be so any information on what the romance side of the novel is like would be great.

the romance is firmly established and domestic, they're basically raising an orphanage together and they've known each other for years; easy interactions and inside jokes with teasing. No major tension and Cat thinks and considers her partner often and values her advice.
Plus there's these freaky plant aliens she gets to shoot a bunch.
