Met this married guy in a coffee shop. Been friends for a while. He showed off his wife's photo. Told me she was the beefiest girl he had ever met in real life. Asked him why he was attracted to her. Told me that only girls like that would beat some senses back in him when he started being bs. He was from an abusive family and he was afraid he would be abusive to his wife too so he chose someone that could fight back. Not sure if he was just joking.

You: "Are you serious?"
Him: "Yea, 100%"

Answer: not joking, case closed.

Alternative.

You: "Are you serious?"
Him: "Ha ha~ Nah, i am only joking"

Answer: joking, case closed.

I told you. That's what he said. I asked all relevant questions. That's why I was unsure and had to post it here.

At least he’s honest with himself.
Fortunately, the worst violence in my family was just an overbearing mother.
But our neighbors had an aggressive father. He drank and did terrible things. So I know a little of what that can be like.

Sounds reasonable enough, as most of the families are generational abusers, with some of them breaking the cycle.

The worse of all, is that the children (if they smart or age-knowledge) will try to "not resemble" them
but one day discover that their DNA risk making them like their parents and nothing can be done about it beside being cautious about it.

Its like a worse 2.0 of ["From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel."]
DNA is a hidden ghost that haunt you and its unknown if good or bad.

I’m not sure if it’s DNA, or a learned pattern, or the result of trauma. I’ve never come across any research on this. But children from such families are at higher risk.

I speak from experience, and i think its more of DNA's fault while learned pattern is more of a "bonus sauce on top" = influence in subconscious.

Its not like i have huge problems in family like the examples said, but i have certain moments very like my parents (in bad and good ways) despite trying hard to not repeat this faults.

Overall sentiment about being worried he'll try to overpower his partner is likely true, especially if he's from an abusive family. Saying he intentionally picked a big girl so she could fight back is probably a joke.

Maybe he just wants a challenge.
