Hey all, I'm sure some of you remember my talking about my poll-operated Create your own novel (Two Face in my sig if you're interested). And I'm sure at least one of you has read it (seriosuly, it's growing a LOT faster than I thought it would, and i appreciate each and every one of you).

But my current idea is this... I'm considering an isekai aspect to it. like, when MC first gains sentience, the system is just that: plain, unbiased, systemic magic. But as time went on, the system itself woke up as an isekai'd person. Like they died in our world and came back NOT as the MC, but as the sentient system that takes issue with the MC.

Just curious how common this is? I'm used to Isekai, and I know all of them i've read/seen/heard about have the isekai'd individual be the MC. but I actually kind of like the idea that it's not.

Like it just feels like it could be a good trope-subversion.

I did an isekaied person as system way back when in The Apple Grotto Nymph, but that story is slice of life.

I was also considering the fact that in isekai, it's almost always the MC that's been transmigrated. even in cases as weird as the vending machine one.
The hero returns
hmm? Is that a SH story?

@J_Chemist Wanted to do something like that. Not the system thing, but making a non-MC isekaied person. He even made a thread about it.

So, answering your question, it's not as unique. Certainly not common, but you are not the first person to think of it.

Oh, I wasn't thinking I was the first. I'm definitely not that original. I was moreso looking for references for traps to avoid with such a case. If something is popular, there's bound to be a reason.

I also did an Isekaid character in that story, who ended up as evil Santa, and got a redemption arc as well. XD

Then again, back then I was on one hell of injections. I have never felt so calm as during that time.

My novel has few non MC isekaied characters, but they aren't developed properly because they aren't monumental to plot. One of them is old *real* immortal who got stuck in a supernatural Earth for millennias because of bad oath, other is MC's properly isekaied father who is stuck helping the MC's associates in another worlds, and also a implied xianxia cultivator who is willingly stuck in the supernatural Earth because reasons I still didn't explore. Also, it's briefly mentioned and implied that the hungry ghosts that invade the supernatural Earth are isekaied from nearby worlds.

...in other words, it's complicated.
