So, I have the itch to write another healer story. But we can't have a healer story with just Mana Works, Live with It. So, do you know about a first aid/paramedic basics channel on YouTube that is easy to follow? I have about 8 or 28 days, depends on if I have loose ends in my current project by the end of the second volume, to research.

You can also suggest shows as well, but ones who are going to show you how to give first aid to someone. Something like Man vs Wild, but for paramedics.

It is for the research, I swear! Extra points if the channel is in German.

Please and thank you!

I don't know about real things that can help, but with how mana can work and be moved to heal, I would suggest to read Suprem Magus. The academy arc was really detailed for each part including his class about healing.

Nurse more like it. I like being hands on. I don't envy docs, but I respect paramedics/all first responders more than anyone else in this world.

@doravg Have you tried looking through a first aid tutorial/manual? I highly recommend reading over them if you're looking for Basic Life Support information.

This for example: https://coolangattafirstaid.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/First_Aid_eBook_v1.pdf

Alot of them cover how/when/where first aid should be given depending on the injury, before they're given ASL (advanced life support) (Usually with cardiovascular stuff/strokes). I think most (if not all) teach about applying rationale about why you're doing 'X', etc (which is a huge, HUGE thing to consider).

Also if you plan to make a CPR scene - I recommend making it visceral. CPR IRL is not pretty. Ribs can even break depending on the age of the person and it can be very traumatising for the giver/observers. In a fantasy world it's probably guaranteed. There's a huge psychological aspect to it since it's a fight or freeze moment.

Feel free to msg if you need help. But from your post it looks like you're basing your char off a paramedic. I unfortunately don't know too much about their field and won't say anything I don't know.

Also, don't forget about DRSABCD!

Thank you! Most of the healing will be with mana, but I want that the first aid is realistic.
