Recommendations Looking for mystery/thriller similar to Lord of the Mysteries or Death Note, though preferably a novel.

Also, if you have not read Lord of the Mysteries, I highly recommend it!

It's not a novel, but I always recommend Daughter of 20 Faces in situations like this. It's more in the thriller/mission impossible direction, taking the thief side of the classic thieves Vs. detectives rivalry that has existed since Sherlock and Lupin. However, due to the thematic link, phantom thief stories are generally designed to appeal to the same audience who enjoys detective stories. (emphasis on the "phantom" part.)

I guarantee, this one is very much in the same vein and would appeal to most people who enjoy the brain side of Death Note. (Although maybe not so much the dark side of Death Note.)

It's available in anime and manga, but I recommend the anime pretty strongly. (Also, the OP song has spoilers, but the OP graphics are not so spoilery. So, you can easily avoid being spoiled by simply not reading the OP subtitles.)

(The ending of episode 3 has an extremely Death Note like moment. I don't think this series is going to disappoint you.)
