Links and formatting in series synopsis?

The synopsis is the one part of a series where no formatting or links are allowed. Even user reviews have formatting and spoiler tags!
As a result, synopsis is very plain... and it's hard to do things like:
  • link to another author's work if your series are interconnected, shared universe, etc
  • put emphasis on important parts of the synopsis
  • credit a co-author in a way that people could actually go see the co-author's work by clicking their name
I'm going to take a wild guess that this restriction might exist because the synopsis is also accessible from search results -- the first 300-400 characters or so initially, then the full thing if you expand it. Allowing links and formatting might be weird? If this is the reason, then I propose allowing formatting and links in synopsis, but stripping those from synopsis when it appears in search results (making them the same as now). I can see why spoiler tags might be too difficult to implement in that context, however.

Already have an option for that. I am already using it.
Edit: my brain didn't register the "another" word. Scratch that.
  • put emphasis on important parts of the synopsis
A bit of an option to format even more would be welcomed.
  • credit a co-author in a way that people could actually go see the co-author's work by clicking their name
Sounds nice.

The synopsis is probably plain text on purpose.

Probably because Tony wants it to be purely text and nothing else. I think it's more of a stylistic choice than a limitation due to search results and the like.

I don't see this happening, but I also don't have anything against it.
