Is there anyone who got inspired from movie/anime rather than from reading?

I’m just curious, is there anyone who got inspired to write a story from watching movies or animes rather than reading novels?
Yeah, to an extent. After watching Yami Shibai, I wrote a couple of drafts for stories. But, to a higher extent, stories told through Movies, Anime, T.V., etc. effect almost all stories. Be that through reference, tropes, story telling techniques, pacing, etc.

i mean, is there much of a difference? Usually the animes have a manga or light novel version. If you mean things like hardcovers or things non-anime related, though, then yeah. I've been inspired by Percy Jackson stuff, for example. I've seen movies that made me want to write my own version of things. Hell, I've even been inspired by porn.

My upcoming arc takes place in a fantasy China-like setting (like wuxia novels), not because I read said wuxia novels, but because I enjoyed watching Rush Hour as a kid lol

From anime and games, yes. I'm just incredibly slow at doing the actual writing part.
“Forget about sentences, just tell the damn story!” — James Patterson

I love this quote. Whenever I get stuck, I just think about this, and everything will go very smoothly. If you already have the story to tell, then just write it down. Don’t worry about sentences not being beautiful. You can always edit them later.

When I'm bored I just create imaginary world after worlds, in the period of reaching school through the bus which is 1 hour.

So the bus gave me inspiration

Respect.
So the bus send you to another world, eh~? ?

You bet. Although manga and web novels are my main mediums these days, I do watch a heck of a lot of anime and play my fair share of games, and I consider visual novels to be my favorite anime medium, as well as the biggest inspiration towards the way I write.

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Anime and movies are fun, but one kinda has to read to learn prose.

I actually got inspired by the lack of variety in anime that I wanted to see but having no hope of ever getting my works into anime productions, mostly cause as I came of age I leaned very heavily into smut, so I settled for writing smut.
