When I came up with power for this tread(https://forum.scribblehub.com/threads/devise-a-power.16820/#post-369083), I then suddenly wanted to see how others might use this setting.
Setting: In a world where belief shapes reality, those who can convince others of their strength hold the most power. People in the know sharpen their tongues and hone their skepticism. Those at the top do everything in their power to keep the majority blind to the truth because once doubt starts to seep in, their powers will quickly disappear.
Example: A celebrity spends a fortune to convince the majority of people they can fly, faking sightings of them with wings until one day they become real. Politicians stage a shooting and "leak" videos of them tanking bullets to become bulletproof. Influencers spend years convincing their fans about how strong they are until one day they can easily lift an elephant.
I'm just curious about what characters/scenarios people can come up with in this setting. Could be an MC, the main villain, or a random dude. Here is my char idea if I do write a story with this setting.
Char Idea: An impulsive liar who out of guilt, convinced themselves that everyone believes in their lies. They know they are lying but are so sure that others don't that it goes full circle and their lies become true. Despite this, they are a kind soul who hates lying and is trying to get better at being truthful. The question is how strong will they be before they overcome their impulsive lying and tell everyone the truth. And will people even believe him when he does finally stop lying?
-Awareness (0-10): How much they know about where powers originate from. 0 = No idea, 10 = Knows the truth
--Char Rating: 0(Have no idea his words have any power)
-Persuasive Power(0-10): How persuasive they are. 0 = their words have no power, 10 = Can convince a blind person they can see
--Char Rating: 3 normally, 7-9 while lying
-Skepticism(0-10): How resistant they are to other people's words. 0 = Mindless sheep, 10 = "You can see", "No I can't" (Becomes blind)
--Char Rating: 4( can be a bit too trusting)
