But if I stop myself from reading the latest like 10 chapters the story continues to update

this isn't a technical issue I'm serious authors on multiple sites just seem to stop writing the moment I've read their latest chapter

I am probably not the only author who enjoys interacting with their readers, and it can be a huge boon to motivation to know someone cares and reads your stuff.

if 95% of authors don't have a regular upload schedule, then this phenomenon is completely normal.

(technically it would need to be higher than 95%, due to bias, but ignore that.)
