When Justin Flinchley loses his job on Black Friday, he thinks his life is over. Without money to pay rent, he'll be celebrating Christmas on the streets unless he can manage to find a new job by the end of the week. But in the middle of his frantic job search, he comes across an ad that sounds too good to be true:

"Air courier desperately needed. No experience necessary, we will train you. Must be willing to relocate."

The moment Justin applies, he is whisked away to the North Pole, where he's given a pair of antlers and told that he's the latest addition to Santa's team of reindeer! An ancient evil is plotting to shroud the world in darkness, and only Santa's gifts can keep the light of hope shining bright enough to push it back. Justin has less than a month to learn how to fly before Santa's yearly trip around the world. The fate of Christmas–and the entire world–depends on him.

There's only one problem: he's afraid of heights.

Rejections happen within 8 hours IME; acceptance takes up to 48.

BTW, is chapter 3 showing up okay in IAFADJAGTIAFR?!? I uploaded it hours ago and it's gotten zero views and never showed up on the main page, so...yeah, are people just not able to see it?

That's fine. The first two chapters started getting views the minute I posted them, so when the views on chapter three stayed at 0 I wanted to make sure something hadn't gone wrong and I didn't need to reupload it or something.

I think sometimes the updates are delayed. I've noticed the same thing because I'm a view count gremlin. You probably have views that haven't shown yet.

This is weird. First I clicked on the image for this story and your other one popped up. I came back, and now I see a broken image link for this one, but if I click on the "broken graphic" it goes to the right place.

I know IAFADJAGTIAFR?! is my joke story, and authors aren't really supposed to compliment their own work, but I genuinely think chapter 13 is one of the best action scenes I've ever written. I'm really happy with all the different ways I came up with for the characters to butt heads (get it? reindeer? butting heads?) without resorting to them throwing basic punches and kicks (mostly). I know my opinion is the last one that should count for anything here, but I feel like I nailed the sense of speed and agility that somebody would need to use these powers to their fullest potential.

Tldr: flying reindeer go wheeeeeeeee!
