Without spoiling anything, I would say from a visual standpoint, I have yet to see a movie in my life that can equal it.
And that's saying quite a lot since I would estimate I've seen at least 5,000 movies or more in my life. (former film student and all)
To describe "Hundreds of Beavers" is akin to what Neo must have felt like when Morpheus was explaining the Matrix to him for the first time - you literally have to see it for yourself. It's a combination of slapstick silent-film comedy, ingenious timing, pacing, and editing, and a Loony Tunes long-running cartoon.
Visually appealing, stunning, brilliant, every bit as worthy of a Best Film Oscar as any of the others in the year 2023. From the addictive brain worm "The Applejack Song" laced throughout the movie, to the mindbogglingly hilarious antics of the many fursuited people (who very obviously were not used to fursuits in the snow, because they kept falling and stumbling several times, with not a single re-take), "Hundreds of Beavers", a simple story about an applejack merchant forced into a life of fur-trapping to make his fortune, is destined for the top of the cult movie favorites.
It is stunning, visually appealing, ground-breaking entertainment. A way-out-there, "What the hell did I just watch and where can I get more?" masterpiece that answers the question "What would a live-action Tom & Jerry movie that didn't suck look like?"
100 years, no, maybe a thousand years from now, people will be talking about this movie with love and laughter.
