how to reach more people to read my novel
Well besides the fact that your story has to be interesting. There are a few things you can do to get more clicks.
  • A good cover art (honestly, just get AI art of a cute anime girl for the best results).
  • Smart title: Like if you're making an isekai story, add "isekai" to the title, or if you're writing a romance, make sure the title gives off a romantic vibe.
  • Short but interesting synopsis: One thing I do for my synopses, and I see successful authors on this platform do, is having the first sentence of your synopsis be a question. For example, if you're writing a genderbender story, it could be "What would you do if you suddenly woke up as a girl?" The next one or two sentences should briefly explain the story. Then, write a list of what readers can expect from your story. For example: upload schedule, chapter length, the tone of the story ("A wholesome story," for example).
  • Post as frequently and consistently as possible because every time you post a chapter, you'll be on the front page for a couple of minutes. After people see your story there a couple of times, they'll know that it's a story that updates consistently, and this will make them want to read it.
  • And when you do have readers, engage with them; this will keep them coming back.

That's about all you can do, really. You could try promoting it in the forums, on Reddit, and on some discord channels, but I'm not sure how effective that would be, bc I've never tried it before.

The important things if you want to reach as much people as you can are consistency, activity, and some sort of promotion such as ads or posting on social media, plus finding the right audience for your story, but there's a ton of various factors and tiny things that may affect that. Title, cover, synopsis, opening, genre, tags, type of prose, interaction with readers.

I was a little bit late, Jaymi above said most of what I said in more detail. Still, yeah, those are the main things you can do or improve, though there's probably something else I forgot. A lot of it has little to do with actual writing.

400k views without the tags you mentioned.

how to reach more people to read my novel

- Use all 25 available tags, and all the available genre macro tags.
- Write one chapter a day.
- Write about something you enjoy and that conveys passion to the reader.
- Create an interesting title and synopsis that make it clear what the story is about right from the start.
- A good cover helps a lot.
- Don't stop until you've reached 50k words. Only then will you start to see results.

Have luck. Something you don't really apply any control over.

What the others have said above is all valid and true. However, even if you do any of those "signal boosting" steps, there is no guarantee your story will be a success.

You may have a perfect title; you may have a beautiful cover; you may have a magnificent synopsis. You may have a ton of banners and posts across a legion of social media sites. You may have all of those things and more, but reaching more readers is... something that those readers decide themselves.

So, be prepared. It's painful and it feels lonely, but sometimes your story may get lost in the void no matter what. What you can do, in that case, is to be willing to write the next story. Cause it might just turn into that stunning success the first one didn't, again, no matter what.

But still, failure is much more prevalent in art than success is. Be ready.

To quote Jack Reacher, expect the best but prepare for the worst.

People fixate too much on write the popular genres. Its partially luck and partially making your writing appealing in general. If the story isn't relatable, comparable, or entertaining, that's the bigger problem. Everyone always shills for quantity, but quality is much more important.

Also the ability to accept one's own faults is important. Ultimately, some stories won't resonate with people. It's just the way things are. Learning how to make a story resonate with people is important.
