I feel like gender bender and a transgender mc transitioning are two different things. A lot of stories have a gender bender genre, but the Mc is actually trans. That makes it harder to exclude the gender bender stories where the mc isn't trans.

As stated above...

Use the Series finder, set the Genre "Gender Bender" as green, then type "Transgender" into the "without tag" box.

Note that there is still a decent number of "authors" who can't manage to properly tag their works (or even select the correct genre tags!!!)

I agree, Transgender and Gender Bender are different. Gender Bender is change without wanting to. and as far as abused Genres go? GL is the worst one.

I think I understand what you mean. Because when you first pull up a gender bender story... if its got that label [GENDER BENDER], you still CAN'T TELL which kind of romance direction the main character will pursue. And to some people whether they pursue this or that gender for their ROMANCE TARGET, is very important to them if they will choose to read the story or not.

Example; I could read a story and like it if its gender bender IF the story pursued romance of my inclination. But I couldn't read a story going opposite to my romantic attraction traits whether or not its gender bender tag or not.

I'm guessing many people will fall into this kind of thinking. But I'm not against anyone. Not against people being different from me. I want everyone to be happy. So ... you want to work the genre tags to make this so people can find what they are looking for.

Maybe you want a tag for [Romance targets of the main character (M or F appearnce)] rather than trans or not trans?

I'm only trying to offer a solution. You don't have to do it this way. But I hope you can work it out.
