I think I understand what you mean. Because when you first pull up a gender bender story... if its got that label [GENDER BENDER], you still CAN'T TELL which kind of romance direction the main character will pursue. And to some people whether they pursue this or that gender for their ROMANCE TARGET, is very important to them if they will choose to read the story or not.
Example; I could read a story and like it if its gender bender IF the story pursued romance of my inclination. But I couldn't read a story going opposite to my romantic attraction traits whether or not its gender bender tag or not.
I'm guessing many people will fall into this kind of thinking. But I'm not against anyone. Not against people being different from me. I want everyone to be happy. So ... you want to work the genre tags to make this so people can find what they are looking for.
Maybe you want a tag for [Romance targets of the main character (M or F appearnce)] rather than trans or not trans?
I'm only trying to offer a solution. You don't have to do it this way. But I hope you can work it out.
