When I copy paste my text from google docs into here, no problem at all. If I copy paste it from docs into my actual scribblehub draft i'll have extra pacing in between the lines that's super annoying.

Not only does this happen, it does not happen every time. I'm not sure what causes it. Have had to do a lot of formatting repair between apps.

Maybe paste it first into something like notepad (or text edit on a mac) then do a find and replace on the extra spaces (you can copy and paste the CRs into it). That's assuming you're doing this on a PC/laptop. If you're one of those phone writers, look for a rich text editor online and use that as an intermediary. Editpad appears to offer good functionality.

Set your whole doc to add spacing after a paragraph. That’s what SH does. If you manually add spacing after a paragraph it will have ugly double spacing. Some editors erase those double spacing like Wattpad or Honeyfeed. Pasting in there and then copying it over SH can be quick fix. I don’t remember if you had to save there as draft first though.

Here's how I do it. I use Wattpad's/Honeyfeed's UI to fix the spacing problems for each of my chapters, or Inkitt's, if you have an entire manuscript and would like to 'divide' it into chapters the easy way. You don't need to upload your stories in those sites; you just use their chapter editor to fix the spacing.

All you need to do is select the whole text and remove paragraph spacing before and after paragraphs. To make sure it is removed fully, click "add" and then "remove" so the whole document is forcefully reformatted.
SH counts that spacing as an empty line.

Alternative option is to remove all blank lines (double enters) in your gDoc and leave paragraph spacing as it.

I write in SH editor (yay dark mode!), copy paste to google docs to edit, then copy paste it back... I haven't seen any issues yet.

I did that for a while until I accidentally refreshed the page or whatever and lost what I was working on. The site also has his ocassional downtime and I can already imagine it going offline while i'm in the midst of a chapter.

I used Evernote for a long time (love their notebook system) but ended up ditching that since it was just getting outright expensive for what's pretty much just hobby writing.

How do I set my whole doc to add spacing after a paragraph? That seems like the nicest option.

Format>Line & Paragraph spacing

You still need to manually delete the spacing of older docs though. Or use the search and replace function. I don't remember well as I have set all my docs like this for a few years already.
