Do you guys write side stories?

Not necessarily stories in the same universe, but ones about a side character or some major event that has affected the main story.

My goal is to write interaction between the protagonists of different stories.

I give my characters their own chapters sometimes to show a different perspective, but not whole different books or whatnot. That is an extra click-over that, by default, loses me 50% of my readers.

Yes, I do actually, it would fit in the case of my story, but I think we need some side stories even for a bit to get a bit of a perspective of other characters
