I will either do it or not do it.

That's all there is to it. But believe me or not, there's something else beyond that. A place where the “I” itself vanishes. You no longer asks anything, nor justify, not rationalize— even the need for Narrative or purpose or meaning or story are all cut off. Everything is severed and all that will be left is motion. It stops becoming philosophy but ontology.

drawing used to be my life.
it was ruined before I could really like REALLY get my name out there.
writing is kind of like drawing, though a completely different skill set.
it's, in my personal opinion, much harder than drawing. drawing is precise, a line is a line. shading is shading. if you want a detail you just draw it in. it's simple when you've already learned basics. meaning and subtleness isn't there. you either drew it or you didn't. it can make you feel things the artist wanted to make you feel, or have a general sense of something the artist meant to portray.
while writing, anything can mean almost anything else. there's a subtlety, hidden meanings, and a sense of poetry. things can be misconstrued or be miscommunicated easily if a single word is missing. in a way i think it paints a better, and broader picture than art can ever do..
that said.. it's the only thing I really have right now that gives me a sense of.. worth? i guess? everything else just feels numb. fun just isn't fun anymore. writing is fun. it's enjoyable. i have had insomnia all my life. but i think, even if i didn't, I'd still prefer to write, rather than sleep. for me, sleep is a waste of time. eating for that matter is too, nothing tastes good anymore. if I could manage without, I would.

This is very relatable.

As for the writing and drawing thing, I have other thoughts on the matter, but it will take too long to explain it and won't be worth it. Also, I might need to do some of that waste of time sleeping thing soon.

not a waste of time if you need it. or if it makes you feel better.
I get to sleep once, or twice a week for 2-3 hours. other than that i'm up. -shrug

get some rest, queen. headpats.

I find that I often avoid doing things due to my brain feeling like they have no purpose. To be clear, I know rationally that there is purpose to be found in doing leisure activities or doing nothing at all. Doing nothing can help you gain some insight to yourself.

I do not claim to be permanently doing things only for a tangible benefit, but often times when I try to get my mind to do something for the fun of it, I lack the capability to do it. I won't be able to read, since I could be writing instead. I won't be able to play games, since I could be writing instead. I won't type up a new thread like this one, since I could be writing instead.

I waste more time thinking I could be writing instead than writing or doing any leisure activity. I do tend to write 1500 or more words a day, but a lot of the rest of the day that isn't consumed by chores or anything is thinking about doing things while not doing them. But then, I realize the irony that there isn't a purpose in thinking about doing something fun and wasting time on that.
