I peeked at ritoria and indeed, it's very small even compared to SH, the little child. I'd say you can do good on SH with BL as long as you continuously update and don't go into hiatus/abandon your stories. As long as there are updates, people will read. (Keep in mind that people will wait to stock up chapters before actually starting to read)
More BL readers and writers are discovering SH as reading/publishing site. Mainly because it is free, you have anonymity, and it's easy to publish something. Naturally, you will gain more publicity one BL-TL sites like CG that also accept OG BL, but they have screening before accepting new authors (already published authors on their site can skip that). So the process takes longer and is, without doubt, a bit intimidating.
My story will have a lot of action, but sadly, don't fall under those genres and rely heavily on the romance side.
