Whooo, finally a chance to advertise. Virtual Judgement is just that. It is a virtual video game berserk basically. Where a weak NEET fights for survival. Tho, compared to berserk, there is also heck ton of comedy. In my personal opinion comedy does not take away from drama and depression. If anything comedic and relaxation moments amplify the drama and depression just by sheer contrast.

It's a good story taking the life story of legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. It's slow paced, and filled with Japanese nuance if you're not familiar with how Nippon does shit BUT THE ART IS BUTTER SMOOTH IT'S BABY ASS KINDA SMOOTH IT'S SO CLEAN AND DRAWN OUT WITH SO MUCH STYLE IT'S LIKE A HIGH MANGAKA BUT INSTEAD OF COCAINE HE'S INTO KINKY ROUGH PLAY INVOLVING CALLIGRAPHY AND GRAPHITE

Blade Of the Immortal-read a few chapters of it i knew its gonna be like berserk but japan.

Sidooh- its not like berserk but it has a similar tone

Hellsing- badass nibbas doin badass shit. It has a similar tone

Elfen Lied- not fantasy but kind of dark

In my opinion, vagabond and blade of the immortal are the most fitting ones, for what you want!
Dungeon Defence is pretty dark but it may be too fucked up.
I have not found anything alike on ScribbleHub, but that may be due to my ineptitude.

My Re:Zero fanfic might pique your interest once I start pumping out a certain arc. It's going to go from fluff to full on Berserk/Dark Souls level of fucked up. The only thing I have to work on is execution.

oh wow, i looked it up, i didn't know they made a continuation in 2016 and 17... I used to read that manga and claymore too, too bad I don't think I have ever read a book or heard of one. There is that dreamcast game sword of the berserk, which i've only played briefly.
