I have a few stories where the concept and premise are good, the writing is well done, and the characters are interesting. Either due to erratic pacing (going from a normal pace to a really slow pace and then trying to switch to a really fast pace), slow chapter upload speed, or extremely short chapters, I lost interest. Do you guys have any psychological tricks that I can use to hype myself up again and give them another shot?

Reason you (and me and everyone) lose the craving to read old series, is mostly bc of the "reading spree" that cause
"immersion".
Took me long to understand this particular psychology but yes.
That is why despite being very VERY infuriating seeing cliffhangers in KR series, it cause the mind "to keep it warm" the series like a microwave keeping food warm. Bc unlike a good normal series having a chapter ending like LAPUTA ending-closure, having a cliff basically means the "series and characters" are still alive.
ps : Now i think about it, No Game No life anime, the original-invented cliffhanger S1 ending (that cause a enormous-impossible-to-solve dilemma to how to create S2 as its not in the novel, for real), is maybe partially to blame to the fervent ardor the fans have to crave a S2, compared to simply a normal ending like "We solved all the problems of Human kingdom. I can't wait to play more GAMES with others. END"
tldr : You stop the reading spree of a series, you lose.
So yes, rereading the best solution. Its like a car. Driving isnt what is disliked, its "starting the car" the annoyance.
