cooperative choose-your-own stories?

Heya folks! So, I just had an interesting idea, and i'm fairly certain it's been done before, but I need to ask... Would I be allowed to run a cooperative choose-your-own adventure for my readers? That is to say, I end each chapter with a poll, readers choose which they want, and I write the next chapter based on that? Or would interactive stories like that not be allowed on SH?

I don't see it being against the rules... do you have the readers to choose, though? I'm fairly certain we have had another author try doing this in SH without astounding success...

I can't give you examples now, but there were definitely such stories on SH. I don't think there's any rule prohibiting it, or if there is then I've never heard of it.

I don't have a ton of readers, but the ones I do have are VERY interactive and kinda niche.

I was runned over by a truck. My very existence was about to become nothing when God suggested to reincarnate me as... Ship girl. What can magic and swords do against metal hull of a Battleship or wooden hulls against a wave of torpedoes? Only time will tell what kind...

I was thinking similar to those old Goosebumps books. And mostly curious as I hadn't seen a tag for Choose-Your-Own.

I think Cambrian does this with one of his stories it's pretty dope makes for a much interactive fan base overall

I generally do, but I wanted to do something a little different. I enjoy DND, but haven't had a chance to play in a while. So I figure since i'm usually the DM, this would be a decent way to scratch that itch.

I think there are some websites that specialise in posting CYOA style stories both with a single author or with multiple authors managing different branches of the story. Though such a story can be done here it might perform better on a site where such stories are the expectation. Not that I'm saying not to post it here, but it's something to keep in mind when having expectations.
