I just have a few suggestions for the contest feature to make it easier for future contests.

  1. Story submitted for Contest shoulder enter pending until Contest holder accept the story to make sure it fits the criteria set for the competition
    1. Or set criteria/requirement for the Contest tag so if the story doesn't fit the criteria, it can't put on the contest tag (word count, one chapter post)
  2. Include a vote button on the story instead of a favourite
  3. It would be nice to have a small section for Contests on the SH page so more people would know about it rather than just the forum
  4. On the Contest story list page, have a small section for rules/info (Criteria, How to Vote and etc.)
  5. Add an expiration date for the contest tag so people can't enter the contest after a set amount of time.
These suggestions aim is to allow readers to have more clarity on the competition as well as giving the story entries more exposure.

@Tony There had been a brief discussion about giving the contest entries more exposure. I don't have a way to do that, but I do know a method to attract more attention on those titles.

To quote what I said in Discord: "The featured Trending covers have a ranked number on their corners. If we had something to mark our covers, to represent they were entered into the contest, it might make them stand out more in the featured new titles.

That would attract attention."

If ya consider the proposal, and go for it, I'll let ya decide what you think looks shiny for our covers.

1.) I should do that, shouldn't I?
2.) I plan on having a "vote" button for novels but that's more of an overall SH feature but you'll be able to take advantage of that feature for contests too.
3.) Of course. That's a must when official contests comes out. Right now, the contests aren't getting enough exposure.
4.) Are you referring to https://www.scribblehub.com/contest/sssc-ii/ ?
5.) That's already possible but I'll have to remove it myself after X date. So if you don't want others to enter, just send me a DM and I'll remove the contest tag.

I'll probably go a different route and just have a contest section on the main page. Something similar to trending/new series.

For point 4, you can do that when you create the section for contests on the main page and I'll inform you when the contest ends. These suggestions were more targetted towards when you have multiple contests so manually doing yourself might not be viable.
