Completing Rance IX and it's 8.5/10

Rance is an Eroge and role-playing video-game series created, developed, and published by AliceSoft. It is the longest-running ero video game series in history, with nearly 30 years between the first game and the conclusion of the series. (here it is if you guys don't know it)

The story wasn't that bad, but the gameplay really finds its way to drag so long especially bosses with tricky mechanics. Some of the parts like the Hoverfort gets brought down at almost late chapters which really gives it no justice and irrelevance to the plot. Hopefully, it got more use than just free battles.

There really is no point in redoing with higher difficulties as it doesn't really help anything unless you're a masochist. Seriously, the combat really makes you sleep.

While even though the combat is an improved version of R1 to R4—it's still kinda repetitive and boring at some point of the story. Mages are practically much stronger but their damage don't scale but they're pretty much the killing machine in this story as there is also only 3 of them.

I was supposed to finish this game years ago, but I could only do it now LOL

Tried a rance once. Bc "very curious after years" of hearing/seeing it sometimes.

unlucky me (like usual), i got a very bad rance of the series, the gameplay was like a roulette stuff, and there isnt grinding allowed, and kinda like a VN style.

But still, didnt felt like trying the others (and busy with stuff)

It's true that the RNG really destroy some of the gameplay but it also was the fun part... and well, the story too... it was the first time that a preg girl was introduced so y'know, I was interested how Rance was going to tackle it but man, Rance is such an ass and always be until Rance X.

And I suggest you try out the remakes because they are more packed with good stuff than trying to emulate the old versions.

Well, i guess i will retract my words. Its possibly indeed a decent game.

Though/but, reason is, i'm A VERY unlucky person AND very nab for the run i did.
So well, grinding skipped (bc not knowing its limited), bad luck with things, weird mechanics like the "bonus companion captured" etc

= Made me have a atrocious experience.

Yep thx i know that other games are better but like i said, before + now, better things now.
