Recommendations Beginner-Friendly BL/Danmei Recommendations?

Hi! I'm looking for BL/danmei recommendations for a friend who’s new to the genre.
She doesn’t usually read novels, but she agreed to try one if I recommend it, so I'd like something engaging, not too confusing, and beginner-friendly.

Preferably danmei, but open to other BL too!
My first was MDZS, but I think it might be too heavy for her as a starter.

Any suggestions for good entry-level BL stories?

Not sure what you mean by heavy, I assume too explicit? If you want a softer one, Priest's "Guardian: Zhen Hun" or any of her danmei novels are pretty tame. Priest seldom writes explicit material. Zhen Hun was definitely one of the most classic, popular novels that she wrote. It also has a C-drama, but I heard it did not follow the novel's plot. You could still watch it for the amazing acting and chemistry of the two male leads, though.

And of course, any of the three Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's novels are very popular, including MDZS. But yeah, they can get spicy. Probably best to read them after an "entry" book.

Thanks! And by heavy I meant emotionally intense, not explicit haha. Guardian sounds like a great pick. I’m looking for something with low angst and softer characters for her first read, so this helps a lot!

P.s. Gotta ease her in before the morally-grey heartbreak arc phase hehe.
