    Weekly Combat

if he stunned him with that big elbow off the arm trap, he has time to drop forearm over the head and toss him over his hip, while retaiuning that arm bar making the temporary arm trap permanent. The arm bar is the finishing move.

Okay, there's going to be a number of "early readers" here.

---------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not an expert, believe you me. It just sounds funny to repeat the phrase, 'reading well, is a mental health red flag' surely you can see the irony there.

Okay, there's going to be a number of "early readers" here.

------------------------------------------------------------------ i love it. They finally did it. If you can read better than everyone else, its an official medical problem? Hyperlexia. The kid's intelligent, and likes reading... lady, get this kid to a doctor, quick. "Help! My kid wants to...

Okay, there's going to be a number of "early readers" here.

in another thread, it dawned on me (duh!) that what i thought were my unique "reading too early" funny stories, are going to be familiar. @Bayleyrockstar @CharlesEBrown , there's more of us, I'm just sure of it. When I was old enough it clearly dawned on me I was weird for this, I quizzed my...

Writing Prompt How would your MC react when put in a horror movie?

that's phrased so crass, yet... it has a certain formal logic to it at the same time. That was fun, thanks. the MC I worked with across several books now, I know him and you got me thinking. He's been desensitized to violence for so long now, he doesn't get the same rush out of it as a person...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

hey. paperbacks in first second grade? adults crowding around as you recite the newpaper before kindergarten? I went to gradeschool not knowing everyone didn't do that, LMAO. Kinda cool to meet someone online self reporting the same deal. yeah. I was given a style recommendation to read 'a...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

LMAO. Join the club. I had boxes of vintage paperbacks at my disposal, and availed myself of their virtues. According to all that's holy writ now, it ruined me too. i honestly don't know exactly what this is. I know I must read faster than whatever average there is, just because I heard about...

Writing How to handle sensitive content regarding the mother's childbirth scene?

Among other "rules" I use, here's one: if there's a trope, consider turning it upside down with a wicked pile driver. childbirth is one of those "magical hallmark moments" to hollywood and books and when everyone else goes greeting card, I start to consider clinical detachment and reality...

Do you love every story you write equally?

anything I make, there exists a love/hate relationship. I'm in love with it, I think its simply amazing. Of course, i could be biased. Then I hit a point I think its not good enough. I start to hate it. Then I take a break and read it again, I like reading it. Then its not good enough. I assumed...

What is soemthing you get pissed off at when you read your old works?

--- I wasn't addicted to periods of ellipsis. I freaking freebased ellipsis. When you see what i call my "older editing style", IE waiting on my modern editing standards. You are *not* seeing the level of ellipsis I am referring to, though you might well think so. It was that bad. What I call my...

Have you ever gotten stuck on a specific writing style?

@CharlesEBrown @Eldoria referencing the two posts above this one... This is a first for me. Eldoria's post made perfect easy sense to me. (not often I get to say that, lol) Charles's post sounded like calculus this time.

Have you ever gotten stuck on a specific writing style?

^^^ this is me. like a lot of stuff in writing? i hear a split of directly opposed opinions, both delivered as if they were facts. "first person is easiest, everyone starts with that." "third person is the easiest, every beginner does that." ...and I sit back and scratch my head. and everyone...

Chuck Norris ascends to head of the Afterlife

whenever he feels like it, obviously. it is a bummer. my dad and his buddies would talk about old chuck norris movies. I've seen things like 'good guys wear black', 'the octagon', and couple others, staying up late to see these things. a bit of karate tournament lore. there was *one* guy that...

As a reader, what is your attention span tolerance for the minimum and maximum number of sentences in a paragraph?

the last place I was at, was "slop central" for webnovels. I got a lot of: "Dude. I get it. The MC is dying. Its a sentence or maybe two, then move the *&^% on. You're killing me." So to make a glib joke? Unless the curtains will *do* something (some action), they would never mention them...

Looking for feedback on my first Scribble Hub novel

@Eldoria : I'm sitting here *chuckling* there's a reason I never went so far as to poke any sort of fun at the "narration calculus" Ted Talks. I can tell expert terminology and reference material when I see it, and that's what your Ted Talks resemble. the funny part is, though you refuse to read...

    Science forums to ask questions?

I'm honestly amazed these days what I can find by just typing the question into google, as if asking a person a question. A lot of times I'll just type in this format: Wiki thing-I-want-to-know-about wiki poisonous frogs
