Ten year olds are not toddlers!

I think a large part of this is having no experience with children, or experience only with twerps. I have nephews/nieces from two sides of family. My sister's kids are raised somewhat strictly, but seem to be developing young adults at 11 or 13. My brother raises kids who are athletic I guess...

Have you ever gotten stuck on a specific writing style?

Tended to write in first person. Right now, revising a Bible, so getting a feel for writing third person. Though certain parts do have first person, some of that, I edited to be third person.

Writing Multiple POV vs. Single POV: Which fiction do you prefer to read as a reader, and which fiction do you prefer to write as an author?

I tend to do multiple POV. And I tend to like clean dividers for it. I really despise third person POV. It feels unnatural.

Writing How tolerant are you of whether the scene elements should be showing or telling?

I largely do not abide by the "show don't tell" mantra. There are things that I limit the telling of. Character locations during fight scenes, emotions, events. But a thing I've discovered from reading fantasy is that expecting the reader to notice worldbuilding that is only indirectly described...

    Chain Story

At this realization, Richard woke up. And then the kids really screamed. "It's okay! I guess I was in a coma this whole time." he said. "Let's see, I need to remember things again... Your name is..." He pointed to the children. There were three girls and a boy and they are twins, but someone had...

How much faster does a mechanical keyboard make you?

Ugh. I have a new computer where the keys are actually slightly closer than the last. It's creating a nuisance both on typing speed, and typing accuracy. When I try to type o, half the time I hit the i button.

    I'm tired of OP heros

One Piece's "Super Saiyan" ability comes after about 1000+ chapters, starting as the very weakest Devil Fruit (where he basically had to relearn how to walk because rubber transfers motion weird), then had to train for years to be able to fight. And it's a completely cartoonish ultimate power...

    Recommendations Normal game progression novels

Well, except that the "twist" is usually a game-breaking secret power. There's something fascinating about Pokemon and how Ash isn't the legendary hero, but just a regular trainer.

Write a better ending for Hitler (and thus the other people)

Ooooh I got one. A time-traveling story. Btw, these are all punny names from Google Translate. I don't know German though, so I can't attest to their accuracy. Like the first guy's name was basically translating as "obviously fake". It is said that paintings are a window to the past and...

Write a better ending for Hitler (and thus the other people)

I was watching a cartoon on youtube where they were talking about Hitler's rejection at the art institute, and after that, he read alot of newspapers looking for ppl to blame, went into war and became a hero, then kinda used his angry charisma to make ppl do atrocities. Was Hitler a dangerous...

Can We Fix Isekai? (Lost Zoro Story)

What? Pineapple on pizza is wonderful. How dare you...! Speaking that way against Hawaiian pizza. I think one of the Isekai that I enjoyed was one where he dodges the truck, but it's shown that it's driven by a crazy girl trying to isekai him. The other girl wants to save him. I saw that. I...

Can We Fix Isekai? (Lost Zoro Story)

Basically, these are the accusations leveled against Isekai: https://gamerant.com/reasons-isekai-anime-bad-driving-fans-away-losing-viewers/ 7. It Relies Too Much On Stereotypes 6. The Harem Issue Is Getting Out Of Control 5. The Demon Lord/King Conundrum 4. Excessive Use Of CGI And...

As a reader, what does a good synopsis look like?

To answer that, we should tell what a bad synopsis looks like. In like 4th or 5th grade, I read a goodbook, but when it came time write a book report, I didn't want to sacrifice any details. With that as the worst, the best synopsis should feel like events of previous chapters in a serial...

    Chain Story

Anyway, regardless of what Palpatine did or did not do in 1998, The Rise of Skywalker was reportedly a terrible film, so we must never mention him again. The kids however were a very much present issue, that occupied all of his thoughts, "Who was the mother? Why don't I remember four kids...

What does “psychological” even mean as a genre?

Well, there is a manga called Inside Mari, where the main is convinced he is a former boy stuck in the body of a girl he has been stalking. The end of the story has a really weird twist. It gets Gender Bender and Psychological tags.

The next day, he awoke in a bed in a tent. A friendly face stared back at him. "You're lucky I was camping out here. My knowledge of herbs kinda sorta made your face purple and yellow, but my healing magic numbed the pain. You'll need to rest until the swelling goes down. I'm an amateur in folk...

Right, it was the words, "Undo the absence that threatens to remove me. Negate all void that does not exist. Dispel illusion! " The old man had claimed to be a wizard. Though he had taught very few spells, and all that he told him had never been demonstrated, as it was situational. So no fire...

Dear Fellow Authors... What is the most outrageous Nemesis you've given your protagonist in a story?

Ummmm let's see. In one story, the nemesis was basically a post-woke version of a former ally after taking Women's Studies (all the others took trades). And her Women's Studies teachers. And some random concept supervillains. This was a plot where the hero's power equals "Debate philosophy...
