Because it doesn't matter if you hunt witches or not, the problem is if you burn an innocent person at the stake just because you think they're a witch.

I think all you can really do is keep trucking and have confidence in yourself. If everyone believed my writing was ai, I'd keep writing because that's what I like doing. I would trust my writing to prove itself. If they don't believe me, that's okay. They'll miss out.

I use em dashes almost every chapter, on the other hand. But I'm not worried about getting hunted 'cause I suck.

Still, the fact that this can make me anxious, even slightly, is concerning.

More than that, AI is developing at such a fast rate that soon, it would be almost impossible to completely distinguish AI writing from human writing.

If that time came, then the innocent ones getting hurt from these which hunts will outnumber actual whiches.

Unfortunately; the prevalence of AI reliance in creative endeavors and AI scammers pumping out generated narratives has necessitated caution and mistrust. Bad actors, including those who rely on LLMs themselves, will project and recriminate in such an environment. If you aren't using or relying on AI carry on and don't worry about what others think.

When the time comes that AI writing is impossible to distinguish from humans we will be very close to our extinction event. And in niche circles that still want human works, authors will have to write on paper with a witness to verify authenticity.

Now the fun part is when people get reverse ai witch hunted. "There's no 100% way to confirm if something is ai, so you're just a hater and witch hunting!'. Meanwhile, all the collective LLM users gang up on you and continue pumping out ai slop stories asserting its not.

Witch hunt implies the false accusation of the innocent. I don’t accuse without being 100% certain that something has been overlayed with an ai voice in it. In fact, I can often detect more subtle uses of ai assisted work, but I choose not to call them out, because the human intent is still largely there.
