The correct answer is both. The correcter answer is both and then forget everything 10 minutes later.

Learn as much as you can about the native Americans from many different sources and then cross reference to indicate which sources have overwhelming bias/ get things plain wrong and therefore should not be trusted going forwards.

When researching any historical topic you should always get as close to the primary source as possible but sometimes a primary source isn't readily available, and you have to go off many different secondary sources.
