Well yeah, but its still there in the cold. I know we have homeless people in certain areas of the sewers nearby that do some questionable things. A lot of people blame the feces smell on that but um.....

Uh... driving in the city is terrifying. Especially when you have like one of those big 10-person vans. I ended up in charge of it a few times because I was one of the eldest in my university club and had a ton of kouhai...

Chinatown when my exes relatives visit was a ton of fun too. Buying knockoffs was a sport to them, and I remember going up a stairwell that looked like a horror movie. Then we had to crawl through holes in two walls, so we could look at purses. ?

Oh, I always used to take the chinatown buses too! >w< They were like $15 lol

I will admit I kinda like some of those places.. Best one I knew was a joint this Korean family had. Basement looked like a damn dungeon. Had stuff stuck in actual cages. Like people sized cages. I didn't think too hard about where the cages come from but yeah.

Garbage bags of DVD’s on street corners, people tapping your shoulders while walking trying to pawn watches, and hidden rooms full of purses. Well, I’m kinda old so maybe things have changed. At least the DVD’s.

I think Chinatown/Koreantown in Manhattan in overrated though. Flushing is better.

Nope, still a thing the DVDs. Quite a few bodegas cater to nothing but that. Usually have games though too .And man the bootlegs...its amazing how professional DVD bootleggers are. I've bought bootlegs DVDs that are just as good as the actual film. I don't know how they do it but yeah...

Koreatown in LA was pretty good. Had some of the cheapest gas and “flyest” haircuts in central LA

Nah. I like Koreatown. Nice people. I can't go into Little Italy without being prepared to fist fight my way out on the account of me being Irish. But love Koreatown. Never been to LA.

Something I was always super frustrated about was that I could never find a decent Chinese bookstore in Manhattan all the years I was there :blob_upset:

I just don't think the food in NYC's Koreatown is all that good for the price...

Oh, maybe you’d like Albany. Lot of Irish people there. Small city though.

@minacia Oh no I don't eat there. Good food, but you'll have to pawn a limb to pay for it. Some places actually let you wash the dishes as payment believe it or not....

My family is asian so there was always an obligatory visit to either koreatown or chinatown whenever they came... except koreatown was always closer so we went much more often... way overpriced :blob_upset:

@minacia Food in Koreatown LA was awesome. Cheap too. But that’s probably because food in most LA restaurants is way too overpriced

I've never spent much time on the West Coast. That said, I have an aunt in Vancouver and apparently the Chinese food there is better than it is in China (everyone is immigrating there lol)

@Freesia.Cutepearl Lurking and reacting. Just to let you know, that video is still loading for me.

@UYScuti Never been to Albany. Only other cities in NY I've been to is Rochester...mostly just drove through it with someone else.

Had an exgf that had her family in Buffalo. I hate Buffalo even more than NYC. I find that place just so depressing and I can't explain why.

Well, if you ever go to the west coast, avoid LA. I lived there for 4 years. It’s rough.
