So true, it's a huge party and there's so many characters and so much drama ? The mc is totally alone most of the book, so this is def my biggest hill

At least, that is my experience. If my MC is alone with her doll, there is much inner monologue and musing. If other people are present, the scene is much more dialogue driven. Unsurprisingly. After all, monologue means only one person speaking. And a dialogue requires evidently two.
