My skewed understanding of grammar leads me to believe the semicolon should be in the first bracket and the comma in the second

"Hewi was giving me; aside from horniess, the biggest urge to play dress up doll on him."
Like this?

Oh, well, now that I look at it again, I feel like both brackets should be comma

So...
"Hewi was giving me, aside from horniness, the biggest urge to play dress up doll on him."

Imo that seems correct

I would use a [-] for both, but comma is correct. Semi-Colon is definitely wrong.

I hate semicolons. They are ugly. So I never use them.
