Typical 'anime-style' color is 'cel-shading'. It is characterized by highly-contrasting colors for base, shadows and highlights.

Also, once you found your color style and established a routine, you can breeze through an artwork within an hour or a day.

My art always takes less than half an hour cause I can't be bothered once I've done sketching.

A pencil art for me (once I know what look I wanted), takes around two to ten minutes.
It was the inks that takes a while...depending on the details.

My digital colors takes a 14 hour time duration (the longest), and 6 hours average, coz of routine.

An illustrator's art may take a while because he/she experiments more on the color combination that will look good on their eyes.

Yeah, same for most art. I'm saying half an hour for really detailed sketches (including gathering all references and laying out exactly how I want it to look.)

Ah, anime art doesn't really need to be so detailed, since it's why it existed in the first place.
when i switched to digital sketching from traditional canvas.. i used to do water colour stuff .. and digital drawing was a new thing and people here would shit as there's no future.. but i still did that for couples of years .. at first it was hard really.. looking at monitor and sketching was very hard at first ..
