We need an IP ban.
This does nothing. All they need to do is restart the router or wait up to 24h to get new IP and the ban no longer exists for them.

Report, report, and once more report. That's all that can be done, sadly.

We need an IP ban.

The same person is doing the same thing on slightly different accounts again and again.

Does anyone want to play hero, find out the person's PayPal, and then flag it down for spam/scam so the scammer loses access?

Seriously, SH is slowly rotting and dying. Half of all comments are made by scammers.

Fiiine I'll do it. My cyberbullying skills will be of use.

Damn, they've had their discord account since 2018. Time to change that.

edit/update: Yeah, it's a scammer alright. They listed me a site as their portfolio.

It's done.
Had a fun conversation on discord, got their information, reported to paypal with extensive evidence.

You win the internet for today.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

It's not even funny anymore.

These damn cockroaches can't be stomped to death.

Seriously, Tony should appoint more mods to finally do something against them. This wave is like never-ending and growing every day. They constantly create new accounts.

I've reported over 100 incidents in my time here; as much as five times a day at one point.
I'd like to mention, again, that The Lounge is a good source to find more of them and report them immediately.
That's how I have found nearly 90% of them - because the idiots don't seem to realize their profile posts/comments get sent to the Lounge automatically for all to see. 😁 And think about this: if enough people do what I do, the scammers will eventually leave here entirely and look for safer waters for their shenanigans.

Yeah, that's a shame. I do report them whenever I see them, but then again I don't live in the lounge or anything.
And yes, I agree, even when they're reported, it'll never fully deter them cause it's very easy to make a new account and do it all over again.
I'd rather report their paypals but that's more tedious.

Yes, but they'll get sick of doing it constantly, and enough times and their own internet service will eventually take notice too. We make them sick to death of avoiding us...and they might just avoid this place altogether. 😊

Sadly, I disagree. They're not wasting their time.

I've read about enough people (in our forums) who fell for it and paid hundreds of bucks for AI-created art/comics.

They wouldn't bother if they weren't having at least a moderate amount of success. That's the frightening thing. There are people out there paying a fortune, thinking they finally found a real fan, and then, despite their disappointment, they pay up, thinking that this is just "normal" and end up falling into the trap.

Which is why I think it's high time we had a warning for newcomers. The moment someone walks in for the first time here, they should see a "welcome" message, along with a warning not to connect with people who, on the surface, could be offering a wonderful opportunity. The problem is, we have too many people still falling for it. We can shut that barn door if we alert new users immediately.

In fact, I might start watching the Lounge for the "new user" section, and just send a friendly welcome message and a little warning that ScribbleHub is inhabited by people who will attempt to scam them with art requests, comic, requests and so on.

That'll definitely level our playing field around here, gang.

PLUS, I can scout for advertisers as well, like this sorry piece of crap who just joined.

Letter written:

A very special welcome to ScribbeHub!

I really hope you have a great time here!

I just want to warn you about individuals here who may contact you from time to time, asking about your work, praising your work, (without ever reading it), or asking you to consider some form of artwork that could be associated with it, such as drawings, full art concepts, even comics.

Please understand that 99.9% of the time, they will be fraudulent requests - an attempt to take your money while creating free AI-generated art - or perhaps not doing anything at all.

I'd appreciate it if you took this matter seriously, and report any individual who comes forward with a similar request as I've illustrated above. You have the means to Report and then Block users here. :D

Alright, go have fun! Create, read, and enjoy ScribbleHub!

Best,
Lani

Alright, scammers. Your days are officially numbered here. :devilish:

She's back:

Seriously? Now we have swimwear brands from Australia advertising here? What is going on?
I saw a law firm advertising here once. A LAW FIRM. *^^*
I can't begin to express how ironic that is.

And this moron still hasn't learned that they can actually hide their activity. Anyone with half a brain cell will instantly know that he/she is a scammer.
